St. Michael's has a vibrant outreach ministry. We've touched peoples lives locally and around the globe. Some of the projects we've embarked upon are: Capital City Rescue Mission--1st Sunday of the month. Meet at church@3:45pm Operation Christmas Child Our current Outreach Committee Chair is Mary Pasko. Please see Mary for your opportunity to make a difference or drop her an e-mail by clicking her name. 2008 Outreach Survey Results Mission Statement: To encourage members of the St. Michael’s parish to express their Christ-ness through various outreach ministries; thus extending the hand of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit to all persons in need. 62 surveys were handed out in January of 2008. 31 completed surveys were returned by the end of January 2008.High Desired Responses from 27 to 20: “Angel Tree” Adopt-a-Family Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes Albany County Habitat for Humanity August “Tent-a-thon” Barbecue Easter remembrances for Mercy House Love kits (personal toiletries) for the homeless at the Capital City Mission Support the Troops Muscular Dystrophy Association American Red Cross Blood Drive Lower Responses and Suggestions from 7 to 1: Backpacks and School Supplies in May/June African Teen Ministry Jewelry Sale Pre-Winter Gently Used Coat Collection Community meal
Outreach Ministry committee: Mary Pasko - Chair, Diane Bartholdi, Carolyn St. Denis, Louise Ford, Clearice Harris, Al Palumbo, Susan Plaske, Annette Peer and Kitty Roy. The Outreach ministry will pursue and encourage the parishioners to express their Christ-ness through the following 2008 projects: On going - Trial Size Personal Toiletries for the Capital City Mission homeless. The yellow collection basket is in the narthex. August 15, 2008 Barbecue for the Habitat for Humanity campers. September 2008 collection of Gently used winter coats for Coats for Kids. October 2008 Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes. December 2008 Adopt-a-Family Angel Tree. The project leader will be announced in the Sunday bulletin at the beginning of each project. 2009 Outreach projects will be determined during the February 1, 2009 Outreach meeting.
