Dear Family, Friends, and Intercessors,
It has been a long time since the sending of Tychicus IX back in April of this year. Since then there have been several Prayer Requests sent from Mrs. Ginny Grupinski who we have asked to send out our Intercession requests, and other requests that have gone out from time to time. If you have not received any requests from Ginny and would like to be part of that list also, please just write us and we would be glad to get your address to her.
Meanwhile, we have had a great deal of ministry in the Region, and a great deal of ministry in the Diocese as well. We have traveled monthly into the provinces of Ayacucho, Huancavelica, and occasionally into Huancayo. The visits to Ayacucho have been monthly pastoral visits with ECLOF (Ecumenical Church Loan Fund) and the visits to Huancayo have been visitations through the Diocesan 'Ordinariato'.
From about May through September we have also enjoyed our busiest 'Mission Season'. During that time we ministered with missionaries Bill and Carol Daniel from the Episcopal Diocese of Albany, Matt and Betti Small, and Patricia Sulzbach, from Church of the Messiah, Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, Larry Burgess from Amigos del Peru and Christ Church, Plano, Texas, and Joe Smith, Doug Creed, Noah Kitt, and Dorcas Day from All Saints Anglican Church in Matthews, North Carolina.
At the end of that season, on September 14th Linda and I left for the states for deputation and Church Visitation. We want to thank all that allowed us time to speak about Peru and our mission here; we want to thank:

Bishop Mike is in Lima tonight. Tomorrow he will be ordaining 3 deacons: Dimas, Marco, and Zoila.Please pray for these three in particular and the rest of those taking part, that the anointing of the Lord might fall like rain in the Cathedral. Please pray for a mighty move of the Spirit in these proceedings and a wave of revival to come to Lima and all of Peru! Ask that signs and wonders would follow the preaching and ordination of these men and that God would be glorified in everything.The ordination will take place in the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd in Mira Flores, Lima, Peru at 5 in the afternoon. Michael was to have flown out of Lima to Paraguay last night but couldn't because he didn't have a visa. This was a surprise as we usually can get a visa upon entering a country in S. A. He is in Lima today trying to get a visa and a flight out. He needs to be at an important meeting in Paraguay. He needs prayer for all the details to work out and that everything goes well with the flight and the meeting. Thanks so much.
Bishop Mike will be travelling the 3rd of November to Asuncion, Paraguay, and the 11th of November first to Montevideo, Uruguay and then to Lima. In Lima they will be ordaining a Deacon for the mission; his name is Dimas and then he and Dimas will be traveling to Huancavelica for the monthly mission. Linda will return the Saturday after Thanksgiving and Bishop Mike will pick her up in Lima. Please pray for health, travel, wisdom, and in particular for the Provincial Synod in Paraguay.
Pray for Holy Spirit to go before them wherever they travel and to prepare the way for them. Pray for open hearts and lives to the Love of Jesus and the ones who come to display His love to the Peruvian people. Pray for Bishop Mike and the team to shine with the love of God like a beacon in the night, and that all they say and do will bring God glory. Thank you for your willingness to pray. Ginnie, there was a 6.9 earthquake in Ica yesterday around 1:30 pm. TV sources say no damagae Father Misael says there were about 60 families whose homes were destroyed. I am sending money for blankets. I will speak at All Saints in Charlotte tomorrow and bring it up. I will be traveling Monday at 1:30. Please send out a prayer alert with this information. If I hear anymore before I get there, I will let you know!
Please pray for peace over the land and people...pray that there will be no damaging aftershocks and the earthquake will be a sign to the people that the Power of God is being released in their region to save, heal and deliver them.
Pray for protection for Bishop Mike as he travels back to Ica and that there will be no issues with connecting flights, buses, etc. that all luggage will arrive with him. Hi Friends; Linda is home from Peru and will be at my house on this Wednesday evening. She would love to see anyone who is in the area and able to come for a visit. Brothers and Sisters,
Today Linda and I leave our desert home in Ica to travel to Lima. Wednesday in the early morning we laeave for the United States. I will get off the plane in Miami and visit churches in Florida and Georgia and then North Carolina. Linda will travel onto New York and travel from there to the upstate region of NY and then down to North Carolina. In the middle of October we hope to be speaking and visiting in Texas. Please pray for our travels.
Linda will be returning to Peru at the end of November and I at the end of October. From Lima I will be traveling to Paraguay for a Synod of the Southern Cone. I will be returning from that the 11th of November to meet Linda in Lima.
Please pray for us during this time for safe travel and visitations.
Hello praying friends...I have heard from the Chapmans and they are so thankful for all the prayer coverage.It is such an essential part of all they are working towards in Peru. Without your prayers, it would be so much harder. Thank you.
On September 14th they will be travelling to the US. Linda will come to NY and Bishop Mike will go to Florida, possibly Texas as well. They will be in the states until November, and will spend time with their family in North Carolina. Hopefully they will also be getting some much needed rest.
Will you be so kind as to cover their travels and time here? Please remember to pray for no loss of luggage, no missed connecting flights, no unneccesary delays. Please pray for divine appointments with people as they travel, and for favorable seating on the planes. (like free upgrades to better seating, and meeting passengers who the Lord puts in their path. )
Please continue to cover their health, sleep and rest.
Please pray for unity for the team in Peru. Pray that they will be of one heart and one mind; that they will ahve the mind of Christ in all they seek to do there.

I have some new requests for prayer...Bishop Mike and Linda are going to be doing a great deal of travelling during the next 2 1/2 months. They are asking for prayer for travel mercies and safety for themselves and the different teams that will go with them.
They are leaving with a team tomorrow for Ica until Monday, then to Ayacucho, and then back to Lima.
The 1st of August there will be a new visitor from Texas to Ica. Please pray especially for travel for this new person. The last team comes in the middle till the end of August.
The Chapmans will be travelling back to the US in September.
Please pray for favor for all. Please also pray for strength and health with all the travelling they will be doing, that they will get adequate rest and proper food. Please pray that no luggage will be lost, flights will not be delayed or have extreme turbulance. Pray for protection from theft.
Pray also for unity among all those who come to see and to serve. Ask that all teams will be filled to overflowing with the Father's love for all those they meet and interact with, and that they will move in the power of the Spirit for miracles, signs and wonders.

Dear Pray-ers...Here is a recent update..
Bishop Mike is in Lima at a conference and Linda is in Ica. She has been ill again since the last update and asks for prayers in regards to her health. Please pray for the Lord's will to be accomplished at the conference. I don't have any details on this.
There is an ongoing problem with the truck and they really need it to be finished with repairs. It will not start on its own..I'm thinking that means they have to jump start it each time they use it. Please pray for wisdom for the mechanics and that an answer is found quickly.
Their daughter Rachel has finished her clinicals and is waiting for a date to take the state tests; good news here and she did well too!

Dear Friends,
I have had an email from Bishop Mike this morning. He and Linda were supposed to go for their monthly visit to the mountain communities, and Linda took some high altitude medication in preparation for the journey. It made her very ill and she has needed to stay in bed since yesterday. The Bishop stayed at home with her to take care of her, so they are both missing the trip. Padre Misael and Claudia have gone on ahead in order to minister to the needs of the people.
There has been an increase in warfare over the mission in Ica/Ayacucho. As the grace for sharing the gospel rises, so does the oppostion. No surprise there, but I am asking if those of you who feel prompted by the Lord will join me in a week of prayer and fasting for His purposes in Peru. I know that many are not able to totally abstain from food, but I ask that you participate at whatever level you are comfortable. Perhaps you can fast one meal a day, or eat only one meal a day. Perhaps you have medical reasons for not fasting. In that case, you might give up a favorite comfort food for the week. Some may want to do a Daniel fast, and eat only vegetables, grains and nuts. You can begin today or tomorrow, preferably, but if you receive this email later, you can of course begin when you do. If you cannot participate, that is o.k. It is an invitation, that is all. It was written by missionary friends, Bill and Carol Daniels, who recently visited and have vision for the needs of the people of Peru. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Last month my wife Carol and I had the opportunity to visit and share in the work of Bishop Michael Chapman and Linda in Peru. Bishop Mike and his team took us to see the Holy Spirit at work in the countryside of South Central Peru. We visited villages and made presentations on woman owned business. We held Eucharists and healing prayers in government buildings with the support of the government and a NGO called ECLOF.
Carol and I went to see firsthand Bishop Mike's team has accomplished and learn of their needs. It seems that their partnership with ECLOF/Five Talents is opening new opportunities for their Pastoral Calls (like the one we were on in Ayacucho/Huanta).
There are two seasons running parallel here in Peru. One is the harvest, the other is election season. The people in Huancavelica are working hard to bring in the harvest ahead of the ice and snow; the election season did not go as many had hoped. Humala Ollanta won. He is the Chavista (Hugo Chavez/Venezuela). The poor are hopeful he will bring about a change in their situation. Investors and the middle and upper class are holding their breath and making contingency plans. Missionaries are working hard to bring the harvest of souls. Please keep praying for the Peruvian people and the nation as a whole.

4. Goat Pasteurization milk/cheese project in San Pedro - (Cost To Be Determined based on size of herd)
5. Avacodo Farm(2-4yrs to full production)/Pecan trees Farm(10 yr project)/Bees for honey(1st year sales) with maybe fish farm feeding nutrients(1st year sales) to trees with drip lines - takes 2 yrs to get first avocados, so initial crops would be corn and squash. (Cost To Be Determined)
6. Mission Center (Chincha property can be obtained from a former RC Priest who has now joined the mission team with a congregation potential of 250 parishioners. Facility would house missionaries, school, and local church. (Cost TBD)
Funding:

2. Salaries and Housing would go through NGO: Amigo Del Peru, Christ Church, Plano, TX
3. Funds directly for special projects (such as, repair transmission on truck) through personal connection.

Since Carol and I have been doing mission work in Haiti for 5 years, we see very interesting contrasts and perspectives to share about the Peruvian people and mission opportunities for your congregation.
